Gynecological cytological analyses

  • PAP smears for pevention and diagnostics of precancerous and malignant tumors of uterine cervix, processed in the HMS 740X automatic stainer, reported according to both Bethesda and Papanicolau classifications.

  • Screening of smears by qualified cytotechnicians and subsequent reading of suspect and positive PAP smears by a qualified physician - cytopathologist.

  • Functional cytology at indicated female patients.

  • Smears from vagina, external genital tract, secretion from breast nipple and similar materials, applying similar diagnostic procedures.

Non - gynecological cytological analyses

  • Aspirates from the body fluids - e.g. pleural, peritoneal or pericardial cavity - processed in a standard manner using similar aforementioned diagnostic procedures.

  • Routinelly processed smears obtained by fine - needle aspiration cytology method, taken from various organs and tissues (e.g. breasts, prostate, thyroid gland), or by the endoscope (endoscopis smears from bronchi, esophagus, stomach, rectum, etc.).
